Prof. Maiaru teaches undergraduate and graduate classes at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Prof. Maiaru received the UML Teaching Excellence Award in 2018 together with Prof. Agar and Prof. Trelles

Prof. Maiaru usually teaches Introduction to Aerospace (Freshman Year) in the Fall semester, Applied Strength of Materials (Junior Year) in the Spring Semestre, and Mechanics of Composites (Graduate Class/Tech Elective) in the Fall semester.

Prof. Maiaru also supervises capstone projects that focus on the design of composites for aerospace and wind energy applications.
